RULES ON OFFICE HOURS
- If you cannot make your office hours, try to get someone to cover for you.
- If you are able to make part of your office hours, but cannot finish them, talk to someone in the MUB Board office and let them know that you are leaving, but that you were filling that hour for the club.
- When in the office, please make sure to clean up after yourself; the office represents us as a club.
- If you have a backpack or other stuff, keep it in the corner next to the desk when you are not using it.
- If you have books you want to store in the office, please use the overhead cubby. Also, if someone has too much stuff in there that no one else can use it, things may get cleaned out and put in a stack for you to take home.
- GOOD ATTENDANCE AWARD: If we have a 80% attendance at the end of each period from here on out, there may be a pizza party to celebrate.

Dues

Dues are collected each semester and are $5 a semester. Your dues are really important as a member of the club. They allow us to do these things:
- Have Dances
- Have Workshops
- Start Fundraisers
- Rent Rooms
- Buy Dance Materials
- Have Socials
- Provide Discounts on Dance Shoes/Clothes for performances
Besides all of that, the benefits for paying dues are this:
- Discounts on workshops (if there is a cost)
- You are able to access dance videos (Cassette and DVD)
- You can vote on officers when we need an election
- And gives you the opportunity to take on club responsibilities
Hi, I like to dance, but I am not that good I am currently enrolled in social dance for beginners at the SDC and I plan to take social dance for intermediates in the spring. i enjoy dancing very much and I was looking to becoming more active on campus. I noticed your club and wondered what kind of place do you have in your club for someone such as I, one that lacks dance skills enough to instruct. What I am asking is if you accept members who have never danced before. Also, do you, as a club compete in competitions? thanks and sorry for any confusion
RESPONSE: Yes, you can come, learn, get involved, whatever you wish. We are open to everyone, enjoy new people and new faces all the time. We will teach you how to become instructors, how to be an E-board member, and even how to set up dances workshops, etc etc. If you want to become a part of the club, by all means do so! As for competitions, we don’t have that many, but from time to time we have one. And that is no problem at all. Thank you and hope to see you at the club.
Anyone interested in trying contra dancing is welcome to join us at the first dance of our season on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. (Central Time) at Fortune Lake Camp in Crystal Falls. The dance will start with a short concert and then Glen Morningstar will call the contra dance and the Front Parlor Dance Band will provide the music. Glen is a great caller and it will be a fun dance. Earlier that day we will have a jam session for those that want to bring instruments (1:00 – 3:00).
