The purpose of this committee is to get the name of the club out to the public. Beyond that, poster design, table tent design, and membership card design are the major things that they will be doing. They will also contact radio stations, newspapers, and local businesses to put up our promotions.

Dance Committee

This is going to be the most important committee, which will be responsible for contacting and setting dates with the bands, decorating the dance hall, renting the dance hall, setting up the sound system, and taking down everything and cleaning after the event. The dances will be broken down like this:

1st Dance – The Scarlet Masquerade

2nd Dance – Homecoming

3rd Dance –Parent’s Weekend

4th Dance –Calumet Theater

1st Houghton Benefit Dance

2nd Houghton Benefit Dance

EWB Dance Uphill 41

The benefit dances will be supplied with a DJ and decorations. Which the committee will help with set up and take down. The EWB dance will be small, for fund raising purposes, but will be jointly done with the fund raising committee.

This committee’s purpose is to get sponsorships for the club. The main responsibilities will be broken amongst groups of people who are responsible for going to their designated area and getting businesses to donate raffle prizes and money to the club. This committee will also be responsible for typing up letters of distribution to each business outlining what they are looking for and must include a signature from both the president and vice president of the club.

The purpose of the fund raising committee, is just that, to make money to make things happen. All expenditures will be reimbursed as long as receipts are provided. Some of the responsibilities of this committee will be to set up events which draw people to spend money, gather people to distribute membership cards, and help pay for events.

Bake sales will be designated to the DOW building on MWF or in Fisher MWF. These are the two best spots for bake sales. They should also run from 10am to 5pm in order to sell all the merchandise. Campus garage sales will be set up by renting the MUB ballroom setting up as many tables as possible, renting them to students at $5 a piece, and done jointly with a small bake sale. Membership cards will be acquired from the PR committee and distributed for $10 a piece to the public, 10 cards will be given to each member at a time, and every time they sell out, they return with money and get more cards. Can drives are self explanatory. Date auctions, can be held in the MUB, which should most likely have a band for pizzaz, a stage setup, kind of like KP’s Drag Show.
